Sometimes comedy doesn't travel: Pacific Rim Diary with Roland Kelts
Even in our globally connected world, sometimes humor doesn't travel. Writer Roland Kelts was slated to have participated in a BBC television program hosted by Stephen Fry, but it was cancelled abruptly after Fry made a joke some Japanese did not find amusing. Roland is half Japanese and spends half his time living in Tokyo. He's the author of a book on Japan's influence on American pop culture called Japanamerica.
For his first installment in his Pacific Rim Diary for this program, Roland is here now to tell us what happened.
