California parents fight to have costly autism therapy covered by insurance

Even middle class parents with health insurance can wipe out their personal savings paying for costly therapy that improves the behavior of their autistic children.

It's been a rocky few weeks for thousands of California families with children who have autism. After years of battling health insurance companies over who pays for costly therapy, parents thought they'd finally won an important victory. But as The California Report's Elaine Korry explains, the terms of the settlement may prevent families from receiving the coverage they expected.
