One of the most dramatic court cases this summer is that of 17-year-old Brandon McInerney. He is charged with first degree murder and a hate crime for fatally shooting fellow classmate Larry King at an Oxnard middle school three years ago. King was an openly gay student - McInerney says taunts by the boy sent him over the edge. Thursday defense lawyers for McInerney tried to have the judge in the murder trial disqualified. The tense trial is now in its seventh week. Here with an update is reporter Zeke Barlow, who's been following the story for the Ventura County Star.
