The 9/11 memorial will be formally dedicated on Sunday, the 10th anniversary of the attacks. It will open to the public the following day. It's taken years for the memorial to be built. In the meantime author Amy Waldman has created a fictional 9/11 Memorial that was never built. It's the subject of her new novel, "The Submission." The book reads as if it came off the pages of the newspaper she used to work for, The New York Times. It's about what happens when the city finds out that the architect who won the memorial design competition is a Muslim. Madeleine spoke to Amy Waldman from New York.
