Eames documentary examines design team

Eames: The Architect and the Painter

Arlene Francis (Left) hosts (Center) Charles Eames (Right) Ray Eames on her "Home Show" in 1957.

Charles and Ray Eames — the legendary husband and wife team — were two of the most influential designers of the modern era. Best known for their molded chair, their aesthetic captured the post World War II American spirit, sweeping away the overstuffed past in favor of a bright and shiny, mass produced future. Their motto: the best for the most for the least, meaning the best design for the most people for the least amount of money. A new documentary about the couple is showing now. It's called "Eames: The Architect and the Painter."

Jason Cohn co-directed "Eames: The Architect and the Painter"
