The impact of Ustream on citizen journalism

Ustream allowed people all over the world to take a tour of the Occupy encampment

There's a growing movement of people using cell phones to broadcast live events over the internet. That movement has really taken off with the advent of the Occupy protests. Tim Pool has developed something of a following for his broadcasts from Occupy Wall Street using UStream, a service that allows any average citizen to set up their own live stream over the internet. Among his followers is our contributor Xeni Jardin, an editor at BoingBoing.net.
