Actress Adepero Oduye is the breakout star in the new coming of age film "Pariah."
The film was written and directed by Dee Rees. Rees is an alumna of New York University's grad film program and was guided by Spike Lee, an executive producer of "Pariah."
The movie tells the story of a lesbian teenager living in Brooklyn, New York, as she searches for her sexual identity and struggles to break free from the closeted life she lives at home alongside her parents.
Oduye plays the lead role of Alike. She joined us from a studio in New York.
