KPCC reporter Frank Stoltze talks with Madeleine Brand about the big congressional race that's pitting one San Fernando Valley incumbent against another.
Democrats Brad Sherman and Howard Berman are battling over the newly-formed 30th congressional district of California, compromised primarily of the San Fernando Valley. The two rivals met last night at a hotly-contested debate at Temple Judea, in Tarzana, Calif.
Though both Sherman and Berman are currently serving in Congress, the two incumbents' map districts were re-drawn, forcing the candidates to face each other in the upcoming election.
Republican Mark Reed is also running for the 30th congressional seat. He owns a number of businesses and ran for Congress once before.
