The annual LA Times Festival of Books is coming to town this Saturday and Sunday at USC.

Madeleine will be moderating a panel titled "Disposable Nation: Trash & Consequences" on Sunday at 12:30 p.m. KPCC's Patt Morrison will be there speaking with Rodney King, and book critic David Kipen will also be moderating a panel. He joins the show to discuss what to expect from the 'Coachella of Books.'

The festival expects a wide range of noted authors, like Susan Orlean, T.C. Boyle, and Michael Ian Black. Non-authors like John Cusack and Sugar Ray Leonard are also expected to be a part of events.

On Sunday, Nancy Cohen, and Tom Hayden reflect on the Port Huron Statement, the manifesto that put Hayden on the map 50 years ago.
