Dress up your felines and other furry friends this weekend for the Pasadena Pet Day and Beauty Contest.

Meghan McCarty is back with your Weekend Alibi. This weekend, give your pet the chance to strut its stuff at the first annual Pasadena Pet Day and Beauty Contest. You can get glamour shots with your dressy doggie, or enter your pet in the beauty contest.

Or you could wish on a shooting star during the Lyrid meteor shower. The largest number of meteors will be visible between 1 am and dawn early Sunday morning. This Lyrid shower falls during a new moon, so the sky is darker making the stars easier to spot.

Plus, a new exhibition at the iam8bit gallery in Echo Park brings all your favorite pop culture time travel references together into one mega-nerdy show. You'll see lots of DeLoreons, Doctor Who Tardises, and Bill and Ted phone booths.
