Media vans sit in front of the Centre County Courthouse today in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania as jury selection begins for Jerry Sandusky's child sex abuse trial. Local reporter Anne Danahy says that the increased media presence in Happy Valley has been hard on the community, particularly some Penn State students.
The jury selection phase began today for the upcoming trial of Jerry Sandusky, the 68-year-old former assistant Penn State football coach accused of sexually abusing 10 boys. The trial will take place 10 miles away from the home of the university, located in the Pennsylvania region known as Happy Valley.
Happy Valley has changed drastically since news of the alleged sexual abuse scandal broke last year. Madeleine Brand talks to local reporter Anne Danahy about the effect of the scandal on the town.
Anne Danahy is a reporter at the Centre Daily Times newspaper, located in State College, PA.
