Hollywood's skyline could soon include high-rise apartment buildings.
The Hollywood skyline may be in for a makeover. The Los Angeles City Council voted unanimously yesterday to let developers to build taller buildings along Sunset and Vine Boulevard. The re-development plan includes high-rise apartment buildings up to 75 stories tall, and has been 6 years in the making.
Supporters say higher density will make the neighborhood more attractive, but opponents say this is a 'Manhattan-ization' of the neighborhood they don't want or need. Development of taller buildings would also obstruct views for some homes in the Hollywood Hills.
