NPR music critic Ann Powers is back with new music from Frank Ocean and The Very Best.

Frank Ocean - Channel Orange

This is Frank Ocean's first full release. Ocean recently made news after coming out and talking about his love for another man. He first made a name for himself in the band Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All, where he wrote songs as part of the rap collective and sung, and he's since written songs for Justin Bieber and sung on the Jay-Z and Kanye West collaboration album, "Watch The Throne."

The Very Best - MTMTMK

"MTMTMK" is The Very Best's fourth release. The Very Best is comprised of Esau Mwamwaya, who is from Malawi, and Johan Hugo, who is based in London. The pair met in an East London junk shop, and exploded in 2010 when their first full length album, "Warm Heart of Africa", debuted, which featured Ezra Koenig from the band Vampire Weekend and artist MIA.
