The latest re-design of Windows, Windows 8, releases October 25 but is already garnering positive reviews. A new touchscreen-like launch screen, eye-pleasing design and faster speeds are all part of the new edition. A trial of the operating system is available on Microsoft's website.
But Apple could be launching a new product of their own. The next Apple conference is on September 12, and rumors of a new, smaller iPad are already in the air. Despite a larger iPad and iPhone already on the market, tech insiders expect Apple to release a smaller iPad to compete with the Nexus 7 tablet, the Kindle Fire and the Galaxy Tablet, which are other products sized between smartphones and full-sized tablets.
