Thank you for this thoughtful piece. I am in my late 40's - Black male. I have never understood the rift between Blacks and Latinos (or Blacks and Jews).
I have always been frustrated by the Latino's apparent lack of acknowledgement of the struggle/battle fought by Blacks for civil rights which Latinos seem to enjoy without any regard for how they rights were won. Frankly the same can be said for many younger Blacks.
My parents grew up in Montgomery AL, during the civil rights movement. We take my 10 & 8 year-old-daughters to the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute every other year to try and help them understand the sacrifices that were made on their behalf.
Again, thank you for reminding us all.
