Heathen

"Heathen" is the nom de plume of a Bay Area blogger who commenced "The Man Project" when she injected herself with one high dose of the male hormone testosterone. The result? Not exactly "man for a day," but definitely not the usual Heathen, either.
Exene Cervenka

Not many rock-n-roll bands have the kind of male/female creative partnership that Exene Cervenka and John Doe have achieved in the band X. Exene talks about that relationship and poses this question: after all these years, why are we still stuck on the subject of "Women in Rock."
The Woman's Building Remembered

In the 1970s, there was little room for women in rock, women in literature and women in art. Here in Los Angeles, artist Judy Chicago, art historian Arlene Raven, and graphic designer Sheila Levrant de Bretteville set out to change that by creating the woman's building Part educational program, part cultural institution, the Woman's Building was instrumental in creating a new concept of art. That is, art as means for political change.
Suicide Girls

Back in the 1970s, feminist railed against nudie magazines as forms of male oppression. These days such pics are a source of women's empowerment Web sites like Suicide Girls, which feature Punk Rock and Goth pin-up girls. "Missy Suicide" says that much more has changed. She says her site is a place where women can forge their own identities. Ben visits with "Missy Suicide" and Katie and Pearl.
