Rose Rustler
[Listen ]
Jeri Jennings calls herself a "rose rustler." When she's feeling dignified she'll call herself a rose preservationist. Rustling, it seems, goes past cattle and roses are far more than a pretty flower.

Song Break: Roses From My Friend
[Listen ]
by Ben Harper's album The Will To Live

Wild Animal Sanctuary
[Listen ]

Battle Mountain
[Listen ]
Back in the early 1990s, Scott Carrier packed his dog and his skis in a car and headed west from his home in Salt Lake City, towards the Basin and Range is what they call the mountains and valleys of Eastern and Central Nevada. It's a beautiful, lonely, dreay place. Full of sagebrush and empty roads and stories.

Paranoid Android
[Listen ]
from Radiohead's album OK Computer

The Grove
[Listen ]
You love it and you hate it: The Grove in the Fairfax District of Los Angeles claimed over 18 million visitors last year – more than Disneyland – the Apple Store alone had sales of over 50 million dollars. Queena Kim met the brains behind the Grove – not to mention Americana on Brand coming soon to Glendale and big parts of the new and improved Santa Anita Racetrack in Arcadia. Rick Caruso has an eye for detail that you would not believe.

Mimi Munson

Ben talks to the head researcher on the film Master and Commander and how she went about creating reality from two hundred years ago on Hollywood back lot.
