The “glass ceiling” has been shattered, but are women getting their fair share?
Half of all workers in the U.S. today are women, and for the first time a woman is the primary or co-breadwinner in two-thirds of American families. In spite of their numbers and influence, women still aren’t earning on the same level as men (women earn 77 cents on the dollar, compared with wages earned by men) and just 15 Fortune 500 companies were headed by women last year. Will companies and the government step into the breach to make sure women are getting their fair share in the workplace?

Great program!
It is time to stop talking and start running (for office!). Woman can and will make the future easier for our girls and boys if we do something now.
Don't buy products from China or anywhere else that don't give their employees health benefits or flexible work hours.
Health care overhaul is needed now, but so is an overhaul to the Federal Family and Medical Leave Act.
I was told by a former employer that allowing me to work part-time so I could spend more time with my two young children would be a "dangerous precedent.". So I had to make the tough choice and give up my career. While I was at home, I ran for local office and am the former Mayor of Malibu and a current City Councilmember.
As an elected official, I am in the process of trying to get a day care for our City employees and other members of our community, such as teachers and fire figthers. I could only find one other City in the State of California, the City of Daly, that offers day care to it's employees and other workers in the City. If anyone knows of any other Cities that offer this critical amenity, can you kindly let me know?
Thanks Pat for getting out the word. You are a true Hero!
With gratitude and respect,
