Superior Court burn-out: medical pot store loses court fight
In a strategy that might be indicative of the L.A. City Attorney’s broader campaign against medical marijuana dispensaries, a Superior Court judge ruled yesterday the state law does not allow for the retail sail of medicinal pot. Carmen Trutanich sued an Eagle Rock dispensary last month in his first attempt to use the courts to close down a pot store and the judge agreed with the same logic that the City Attorney used earlier in front of the City Council: Proposition 215 never allowed for the sale of medical marijuana. If the City Council doesn’t go along with Trutanich, is it possible he could sue pot stores right out of L.A.?
