US Olympic trial competition heats up for the summer games

The 2012 summer Olympics are just around the corner and competition in the United States Olympic trials is heating up. For the first time in U.S. history, two African-American swimmers – Cullen Jones and Anthony Ervin - have qualified for the same event, the 50-meter freestyle. Veteran swimmers Natalie Coughlin, Amanda Beard and Dara Torres – who all happen to have California connections - have also strived to make this year’s Olympic team.
