The LAPD arrested 17 people last night after altercations between both officers and Occupy LA protesters during Thursday night’s Art Walk near the corner of 5th and Spring in Downtown Los Angeles. Four officers were injured. What prompted this clash? Sidewalk chalk drawings. “Vandalism has always been illegal,” said Mayor Villaraigosa. Given last night’s events, we examine the Occupy movement and the cities response to it.
