Facebook and the First Amendment

A screen shot of Sgt. Gary Stein's Facebook page.

The Founding Fathers didn’t include specific language in the Bill of Rights regarding Facebook. Now, the ACLU has teamed with the social media giant to appeal a court ruling that said “liking” something on Facebook is not protected speech. The lawsuit stems from a man who was fired after he “liked” the Facebook page of a candidate who was running against the man’s boss, the sheriff of Hampton, Virginia.

WEIGH IN:

Is “liking” something on Facebook protected under the First Amendment?
