Rich Dean formerly managed the Web team for KPCC and American Public Media in Los Angeles. In 1993 he founded NPR's new media department and npr.org. In between public radio gigs, Rich helped Fortune 500 companies define their interactive initiatives, including Web sites for L.L. Bean, AT&T, Washington Mutual Bank, and American Express.
