Last week thieves made off with a spectacular haul of seven valuable works from the Kunstahl Museum in Rotterdam. And this week an established New York gallery was reported to be the center of a federal forgery investigation.
The heist and the allegations are drawing attention to the underbelly of the art business, something author B.A. Shapiro knows a little about. She’s written a new novel, "The Art Forger." It's a complicated story involving a forgery of one of the works stolen in 1990 from the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston, another high profile case which was never solved. Author B.A. Shapiro joins the show to talk with Barbara Bogaev.
