The Flu season has hit parts of the country particularly hard this year with Boston declaring a public health emergency and a Pennsylvania hospital constructing a tent to handle excess flu cases.According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention 22,048 flu cases have been reported from September 30 through the end of 2012.
If sequestration cuts take effect this Friday, California stands to lose about $16 million marked for public health spending.
