"First Person: Speaking of Faith" presents "Children of God," a holiday special from MPR. Hosted by Krista Tippett, it includes Robert Coles, Harvard researcher and author of "The Spiritual Life of Children"; Diane Komp, Yale pediatric oncologist and author of "Window to Heaven"; When Children see Life in Death; and Carol Dittberner, who describes a Montessori-based method of religious education. The Legacy of Dan Eldon
You may not know his name, but you've undoubtedly seen his work. In his brief 22 years, Dan Eldon covered war in Africa as a photojournalist, but it wasn¨t until he was killed by a mob that the world discovered his journals of photographs and self-expression. His mom, LA resident Kathy Eldon, talks about her decision to release his private journals, The Journey is the Destination (Chronicle), and author Jennifer New speaks of her new biography, Dan Eldon: Art of Life (Chronicle).

Host Kitty Felde speaks with Bradley University professor of religious studies, Robert Fuller, about alternative spiritual practices and their long and rich history in American spirituality. His book Spiritual but Not Religious (Oxford University Press) explores practices that date back to the colonial period when fewer than a third of the colonists belonged to a church but practiced astrology, numerology, magic and witchcraft.
