A pioneer of Òcombat televisionÓ died Sunday. For 20 years Wally George hosted ÒHot SeatÓ on Orange CountyÕs KDOC-TV, Channel 56. His rowdy late-night talk show was the pre-cursor of Jerry Springer and other confrontational shows.

Today in his press conference, Governor-elect Arnold Schwarzenegger outlined the members of his transition team. Guest host Jon Beaupre sits down with a few of the members, business leader Eli Broad, and Long Beach Mayor Beverly OÕNeil.

Predators in the News (Listen)
Can wild animals be tamed? Maybe so says author David Quammen, but they can never be domesticated, and that leaves open the chance that they can revert back to a dangerous animal even for a couple of moments. Quammen is the author of the newly published Monster of God: The Man-Eating Predator in the Jungles of History and the Mind (Norton). He joins guest host Jon Beaupre to talk about the recent tiger and bear maulings in the news.

EdgeFest (Listen)
The annual Edge of the World festival or EdgeFest is currently on stages throughout Los Angeles. The event is a showcase for the fringe and small theater ensembles that struggle to compete for attention against more established theater companies. Guest host Jon Beaupre talks with the festival executive director, Ray Simmons, in addition to directors from some of the EdgeFest productions.
