Special Broadcast on Southland Fires: Hour 1 (Listen)
Talk of the City host Kitty Felde hosted a two-hour special on the state of the Southland fires. In the first hour (from 1 Š 2 p.m.), Kitty spoke with the following guests: KPCC Reporters Rachael Myrow and Adolfo Guzman Lopez; NPR reporter Carrie Kahn; KBPS reporter Russell Lewis; the fire departments for the city of San Bernadino and Ventura county, and the San Gabriel Valley Red Cross.

Eaton Canyon Recovery Alliance (Listen)
The Eaton Canyon Recovery Alliance (ECRA) formed soon after the fires a decade ago in Altadena. Their purpose was to help each other and their neighbors rebuild and regroup after the tragedy. The group is active today are offering their wisdom and advice to the people and communities trying to figure out how to get on the road to recovery from this weekÕs Southern California fires. Community Partners has raised a small amount of money to help coordinate, provide organizing counsel and infrastructure to neighbor groups that want to set up similar alliances using the ECRA model.

Community Partners are working with Ursula and Virginia to set-up informational sessions with the communities that have suffered in this weekÕs fires. For more information on the upcoming sessions, please call Eric Medina at Community Partners at 213-439-9640.

Urban Bio-geology (Listen)
Travis Longcore assistant professor at the Center for Sustainable Cities at USC specializes on how risk management affects the environment. He speaks with host Kitty Felde about the affects of the fires.

Vintage Halloween (Listen)
Get into the mood of Halloween by taking a look at Halloween pasts. Kitty Felde explores the vintage Halloween costumes and pictures from the collection of photographer and collector Phyllis Galembo at the Craft and Folk Art Museum. Kitty Felde tours the exhibit with executive director Peter Tokofsky.

Dressed for Thrills: Vintage Halloween Costumes is on display at the Craft and Folk Art Museum (5814 Wilshire Blvd.) through November 9th. Admission, $3.50 adults, $2.50 seniors and students, and kids 12 & under are free. The museum is open Wednesday through Sunday, 11:00AM-5:00PM.
