The real 'BlacKkKlansman' and the actor who plays him

(Starts at :45)

Ron Stallworth joined the Colorado Springs Police Department in the early 1970s, becoming the force's first ever black police officer and detective. While he was gathering information on subversive groups, he came across a classified ad for a new chapter of the KKK in Colorado Springs and got an idea — he would secretly join their ranks. Spike Lee's new film 'BlacKkKlansman' tells the amazing story. Actor John David Washington plays Stallworth in the film. The two recently spoke with The Frame.

Harmony for disharmonious times

(Starts at 19:15)

Rosie & the Riveters are a folk trio from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan — home to another folk singer, Joni Mitchell. Composed collaboratively in a remote cabin, their latest album "Ms. Behave" contains anthems of female-empowerment including their response to the #MeToo movement, “I Believe You.”
