Director of Development
As SCPR’s Director of Development, Carol oversees the membership, individual giving and institutional giving teams, and supports the organization’s multiplatform newsroom expansion campaign.
She joined the organization as a major gift officer in 2008 raising funds for the successful capital campaign for the Mohn Broadcast Center and Crawford Family Forum. She also served as director of development before being appointed to her current position.
Carol had a career in marketing and communications before joining SCPR. She served as senior vice president of retail marketing at Home Savings of America where she launched the company’s first Spanish and Chinese language marketing campaigns and was vice president of external relations at the Japanese American National Museum where she was responsible for marketing, public relations, donor communications and special events as well as earned income activities.
Carol is a native Angeleno born and raised in Boyle Heights. She has a degree in journalism from the University of Southern California where she was a reporter for the Daily Trojan, and considers it a privilege to raise funds for KPCC’s award-winning news coverage and programming.
