Stefan also held roles as the development manager at TrueChild, a national organization focused on the issue of gender stereotyping, as well as a grant writer at the National PTA, a well-known, historic membership association for parents and educators.

A graduate of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Stefan has a degree in Philosophy. In 2014 he and his husband, John, relocated from Washington, DC to Downtown LA, where he has cultivated a green thumb with more than a little help from The Original Los Angeles Flower Market.
