Your pledge is more important than ever: vote on defunding NPR could come today

Remember all those emails about supposed cuts to public broadcasting?  There might actually be a vote on it today.

Every week, the GOP allows online voters to identify fat in the federal budget that deserves to be slashed.  In this week's "YouCut" program, defunding NPR beat out elimination of the "Exchanges with Historic Whaling and Trading Partners Program" and the Presidential Election Fund.  Here's more details, courtesy of "The Hill":

The vote will be more symbolic than anything else, since Democrats still control the House.  But all that changes in January when Republicans become the majority in the House.

And in case you wondered, about 5% of KPCC's funding comes from government sources.  The rest - as we say - comes from members like you.

Thank you.
