Investigating Florida Killing After Outcry - New York TImes The federal Justice Department has announced it will investigate the shooting death of Trayvon Martin, an unarmed black teenager shot by a neighborhood watch volunteer. There has been a public outcry after local police failed to arrest the shooter.

Bill banning illegal immigrants from Ga. colleges clears House panel - Atlanta Journal-Constitution A bill that would bar undocumented students from attending public colleges and universities in Georgia has come closer to becoming law, clearing the state House. It was approved in the state Senate earlier this month.
