VIDEO: If we had Google Street View in the 1950s and '60s, it might look something like this

We’re used to touring our neighborhoods with a Google Maps Street View, but what if we had Google Maps in the 1950s and ’60s? It might look something like these video street tours from Vintage Los Angeles.

This one takes us on a tour of Hollywood Boulevard and surrounding areas in 1957.* Much of the neighborhoods look similar, but the cars provide the visual cue that we’re in a different time than the Los Angeles we’re used to.
