Prosecutor releases his first TV ad in district attorney's race

The prosecutor who led the murder case against music producer Phil Spector today released his first television commercial in the race to be Los Angeles County’s next district attorney.

The 30-second spot from Deputy District Attorney Alan Jackson focuses on his work prosecuting gang members and incorporating new technologies into the office.

Jackson is known for prosecuting both Spector and the man behind the killings of race car driver Mickey Thompson and his wife.

Also running to succeed District Attorney Steve Cooley are chief deputy district attorney Jackie Lacey, deputy district attorneys Danette Meyers, Bobby Grace and John Breault III, and L.A. City Attorney Carmen Trutanich.

Last week, former Laker star Shaquille O’Neal endorsed Trutanich with a robo call to voters.
