The painter becomes the painted on Monday as Bob Ross gets the Google doodle treatment on what would have been the beloved artist's 70th birthday.

With a voice more soothing than 1000 sleepytime machines, the mellow mister who spoke gently and carried a giant palette, hosted "The Joy of Painting" on PBS from 1983 to 1994. Ross died of cancer in 1995 at age 52.

Brush up on Bob Ross-related trivia (did you know he was in the military?) with a Happy Little Quiz, and revisit the PBS icon remix, "Happy Little Clouds."

Video autotunester John Boswell also released a Mister Rogers tribute "Garden of Your Mind" last June, and chopped up a kitchen slow jam ala Julia Child in August.
