How would you describe 'Lebowski Fest' to a bunch of amateurs? Give us notes

Lisa Brenner/KPCC

This is what happens when you find a stranger in the Alps. And this is what happens when you find yourself at Lebowski Fest LA.

On March 22 and 23 Lebowski Fest returns to Los Angeles with all the jelly sandals and curse words your Kahlua-filled heart can handle. Pretty up your marmot and preen your Pomeranian, the two-day celebration of special ladies and strong men is back.

So, how do we explain this phenomenon to those who are out of their element? Well Dude, we just don't know. We'd love it if you gave us notes.

Can you blather a description of Lebowski Fest in one marvelous sentence?

It'll really tie this story together. Leave your lesson in the comments below, or say peep about it on Facebook and Twitter. Consider it a public service for the amateurs who would otherwise roll out to the fest naked.

Even an achiever may not know the condition of cultdom they're tumbling in to. They may not know, for example, that there's a guy out there in the world making poster art for every line in the movie.

And that's just the beginning. You want a gimmick? I can get you a gimmick:

Weekend combo passes for Lebowski Fest are sold out, but individual tickets are still available for both nights. On movie night, Tenacious D's Kyle Gass will perform his cycle before the film. Costumes and trivia will accompany the bowling on night two. Some of the well known mugs making appearances include: Woo, The Sheriff, Liam and The Waitress.

  • The "Movie Party" portion is Friday, March 22 at the Saban Theater. (TICKETS/INFO)
  • The "Bowling Party" portion is Saturday, March 23 at Fountain Bowl. (TICKETS/INFO)
