Immigration reform – where are the political leaders and the media? Democrats and Republicans alike have made little progress on immigrant issues over the last few years, but is it for lack of effort? Politics, options wrapped in controversy, and the serious consequences of both doing nothing or going down a path of enforcement creates a mix made for stagnation. On Thursday, May 17th, KPCC’s Crawford Family Forum hosted the Greater Los Angeles chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists to talk about the intricacies of immigration in America and how politics and the media impact reform. Panel: - Adolfo Flores, Pasadena Sun (Moderator) - Paloma Esquivel, Los Angeles Times - Pilar Marrero, La Opinion - Kent Wong, UCLA Labor Center This event is also presented by CCNMA: Latino Journalists of California.
