Coming to our party tomorrow? Take the metro! LA Plaza is across from Union Station.

The California Primary is June 7, and we’re having a party – complete with free KPCC goodies, a photo booth, crafts, the Michemobil and a chance to share your thoughts with fellow Angelenos on our mobile recording booth.

Bring your "I voted" sticker and join the KPCC In Person team at La Plaza de Cultura y Artes in downtown Los Angeles for our #WhyIVoted party celebrating your decision to vote in the election and, we hope, encouraging others to do the same.

We’ll arrive bright and early and stay at La Plaza as long as the polls are open. We invite you to join us for however much time as your schedule will allow. The relaxed gathering is free and open to the public, and it’ll include several opportunities to connect with our team and fellow community members. Grab a cup of coffee (generously provided by our trade partner, Jones Coffee Roasters) or some food (made possible by trade partners Guelaguetza and Whole Foods) before telling KPCC journalists – via our mobile recording booth – what it was that inspired you to vote this year. You can also snap pics in our election-themed photo booth or make a keepsake “I voted” button.

This party is part of KPCC’s ongoing effort to report on the 2016 elections with a focus on the issues that matter most to Southern Californians.

If you’d like a reminder of the event and/or additional information on the June 7 primary, RSVP here. (Note: RSVPs are not required).

This event is made possible in part by a grant from the Goldhirsh Foundation as part of their LA2050 initiative and #PartyatthePolls events
