'Undocumented' or 'illegal'? Which life experiences shape your opinion?

Steven Cuevas/KPCC

The Associated Press has announced it will no longer use the term "illegal immigrant" in its stylebook. Instead, the guidebook says, "illegal" should be used only in describing an action.

The choice to use "illegal immigrant" or "undocumented immigrant" to describe the same person has been called a political act. We at KPCC want to start a conversation around this issue. So we're asking for your story. We want this to be civil, so please leave opinion and accusations behind. Tell us the personal, real-life experiences that guide your thoughts on "illegal" versus "undocumented."

Responses to our questions are confidential, so nothing you share will be aired or published without your permission.
