Residents of the 33rd Congressional District and the Third Supervisors District are in the midst of a historic overlap of competitive and costly races.

In the 33rd, Congressman Henry Waxman's retirement has kicked off a contest between former Democratic State Senator Ted Lieu and Los Angeles Deputy District Attorney Elan Carr. Meanwhile, term limits have forced L.A. County Supervisor Zev Yaroslovsky to step down and voters will be choose between former Santa Monica City Council member Bobby Shriver and former state legislator Sheila Kuehl.

KPCC wants to hear from you about the concerns guiding you to the ballot box. Tell us what you think, and join us Wednesday, Oct. 15, at 3 Square Bakery and Cafe in Abbot Kinney. KPCC reporter Sharon McNary will be talking with residents about your concerns in our lead up to a live debate between congressional candidates Elan Carr and Ted Lieu October 22.
