Fire at LAX causes power outage

A fire on the west side of Los Angeles International Airport this morning caused a power outage. According to a press release, airport and most terminal operations were unaffected by the outage.

The fire began at midnight. The Los Angeles Fire Department knocked out the fire, and the Department of Water and Power sent units to work on restoring the power, but there was no estimate on when power will be restored

Travelers coming to the airport have been advised to give themselves extra time due to traffic lights being affected.

The power outage is affecting administrative and tenant buildings on the west side of the airport.
