Pardoned turkey Courage serves as Disneyland parade grand marshal

Courage, the National Thanksgiving Turkey pardoned by President Obama, is the honorary grand marshal of today's Thanksgiving Parade along Disneyland's Main Street U.S.A.

The turkey will be joined by his alternate, Carolina. Following the parade, Courage and Carolina will live at Santa's Reindeer Round-Up at Big Thunder Ranch in Frontierland for the rest of their lives.

Both turkeys flew aboard a United Airlines flight dubbed Turkey 1 from Washington's Dulles International Airport to Los Angeles International Airport on Wednesday.

Courage is a 20-week-old 45-pound tom turkey, raised on a farm in Goldsboro, NC, under the supervision of Walter Pelletier, the chairman of the National Turkey Federation and secretary-treasurer for BUtterball, the nation's largest turkey producer.

This is the fifth consecutive year the National Thanksgiving Turkey has been taken to a Disney resort following his pardon.
