The event is scheduled to run from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Los Angeles Police Department's Southeast Station, 145 West 108th Street.

Guests and entertainers will include a Mariachi band, retired Los Angeles Galaxy star Mauricio Cienfuegos of El Salvador, other Galaxy team members, the consul and vice consul of El Salvador, singers such as Latin Grammy nominee Luz Rios and Jenny Rivera, and a "professional Santa Claus."

Sixty needy families were invited to come to the Southeast Station for the event for dinner, a food basket and a toy giveaway. This is the second year for the event.
