Thursday night auto accident injures 2 pedestrians, driver

A car accident on Sunset Boulevard left three people injured Thursday, including two pedestrians and the driver of the vehicle involved.

One male pedestrian was critically injured and a second may have broken a leg when they were struck by a vehicle today in Hollywood.

The more seriously injured pedestrian sustained substantial head trauma and underwent surgery, said Los Angeles Police Lt. Roger Deranian of the West Traffic Division.

The male driver of a vehicle sustained minor injuries, said Devin Gale of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Paramedics were sent to the 6400 block of Sunset Boulevard, near Cahuenga Boulevard, at 5:49 p.m., Gale said.

"Information from witnesses is conflicting," Deranian said. "There is video we may have to subpoena."

Some investigators were still at the crash scene tonight and others were at a hospital conducting interviews, a West Traffic Division duty officer said.
