Bomb squad sent to North Hollywood after traffic stop

A lane and two ramps of the northbound Ventura (101) Freeway were closed in North Hollywood today due to something Los Angeles police officers found something inside a car during a traffic stop. The Los Angeles Police Department bomb squad was sent to the scene.

The suspicious device may be a pipe bomb, according to reports form the scene. Someone inside the car was under arrest.

No stops were being made at the Metropolitan Transportation Authority's Universal City station, according to reports from the site.

Authorities closed down at least one lane of the 101 as well as the Lankershim Boulevard offramp and onramp.
