Boeing to lay off 300 Southern California workers

Boeing Co. sent layoff notices today to more than 1,000 people, including about 300 workers in Southern California, a company spokesman reported.

The notices inform employees that they might be laid off April 23, Boeing spokesman Tim Healy said.

About 300 of the endangered employees are based in California, and the rest of the workers are located throughout the country.

The layoffs are part of 10,000 job cuts Boeing previously announced.

In California, Boeing has operations in El Segundo, Huntington Beach and San Diego.
