Long Beach gang-related shootings injure 3 boys

Two apparently gang-related shootings in Long Beach left a 12-year-old boy critically wounded and two 15-year-old boys hospitalized in stable condition, police said today.

The younger boy was shot near Seventh Street and Magnolia Avenue about 10 p.m. Sunday, and the teens were shot a couple of blocks away.

The shootings are believed related to one another, said police Sgt. Dina Zapalski. No arrests have ben made.

The 12-year-old is from Hawaiian Gardens, and was attending a family barbecue when he was shot. The 15-year-olds, who are from Long Beach, were wounded a couple of blocks away while riding bicycles at Seventh Street and Daisy Avenue, according to police.

The names of the three boys were not released.
