LA Metro Rail security increased after bombings in Russia

Security was being beefed up today on the Metro Rail system in the wake of the bombings in Russia, authorities said.

"This is just a precaution," said Rick Jager of Metro."There have been no threats against transit property in the United States."

The sheriff's department, which provides security for the rail system, will deploy extra deputies, along with canine teams, as part of a "heightened visibility" strategy, Jager said.
