Small fire breaks out near Tarzana country club

TARZANA - A small brush fire broke out today near a Tarzana country club, but no one was hurt, a city fire official said.

The fire occurred around 3:30 p.m. at 4304 Coquette Place, near the Braemar Country Club, said Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

"It is a small vegetation fire,'' Humphrey said. "We should have it out shortly.''

Humphrey said no structures were threatened by the fire. Smoke was visible on the south side of San Fernando Valley from Mission Hills, a police helicopter pilot said.

No injuries were immediately reported.
